Julian Konstantinov

Graduated from the National Academy of Music "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov" - Sofia (1993). As a student in 1992 he debuted at the Sofia Opera in the role of Don Basilio from Rossini's The Barber of Seville. In 1994 he was accepted as a soloist of the opera, and in 1996 he won the Boris Hristov International Competition for Young Opera Singers.

In the following years he sang at La Scala, the Metropolitan, Covent Garden, Paris Opera de Bastille, Vienna State Opera, Teatro Colon, Liceo Barcelona, Real Madrid, as well as the operas of Rome, Parma, Venice, Florence, Tokyo, Munich, Toulouse, Nice, Strasbourg, Tel Aviv, Geneva.

He has also performed at Carnegie Hall - New York, NHK - Tokyo, Concertgebouw - Amsterdam, Victoriahall, as well as at festivals such as Salzburg, Edinburgh and Bregenz.

He has worked with opera conductors Claudio Abbado, Riccardo Muti, Zubin Metha, James Conlon, Edward Downs, Gustavo Dudamel, Vladimir Fedoseyev. He has participated in recordings for EMI, Nightingale, O.R.F., R.A.I.
