Vladimir Boshnakov was born in the city of Pleven into a family of hereditary musicians.
In 1990, he graduated from the “P. Pipkov” Music School in his hometown, and in 1995 he received his Master’s degree in choral conducting and clarinet from the National Academy of Music “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov” in Sofia.
Between 1999 and 2001, he specialized in opera and symphonic conducting under Acad. Vasil Kazandjiev.
At the age of 27, he made his debut with the Pleven Philharmonic Orchestra, performing with soloist Prof. Petko Radev.
As a conductor, he has appeared on the stages of the philharmonic orchestras of Pleven, Plovdiv, Ruse, Shumen, Vidin, and Vratsa, the chamber orchestra in Dobrich, and the operas of Varna, Burgas, Ruse, Plovdiv, Stara Zagora, and Blagoevgrad, as well as at the Music and Drama Theatre “K. Kisimov” in Veliko Tarnovo, where he served as chief conductor from 2006 to 2010.
In 2002, he co-founded the chamber orchestra “Studio Primo”, serving as its principal conductor for six years. With Studio Primo, he performed numerous concerts with renowned soloists such as Vasko Vassilev, Svetlin Rusev, Yaldaz Ibrahimova, Teodosii Spassov, and others.
He has collaborated with prominent directors such as Acad. Plamen Kartalov, Prof. Svetozar Donev, Ognyan Draganov, Corina Boscovski, Dimitar Sharkov, and world-famous choreographers Andrey Bossov and Vasily Medvedev.
Boshnakov has conducted at major festivals including “Apollonia” in Sozopol, “Katya Popova Laureate Days” in Pleven, “Mozart Festival” in Pravets, and “Stage of the Ages” in Veliko Tarnovo.
Since 2014, with Schlote Opera Production, he has toured annually in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg, conducting performances of operas such as La Traviata, Il Trovatore, Un Ballo in Maschera, Tosca, Madama Butterfly, and others.
Currently, he serves as Artistic Director of the “Stage of the Ages” Festival, Conductor at the State Opera – Stara Zagora and State Opera – Ruse, and lecturer at the National Academy of Music “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov” in Sofia.
