"Both composers are among the colossi of Italian opera, prominent representatives of the bel canto style, but it is interesting to see how this style is translated into their chamber music. Bellini's works are mostly lyrical, intimate; while Verdi's works have his typical sweep and vital energy.
The piano pieces to be played highlight these two different characters of music, refracted through the styles of Debussy and Liszt. Each song, each piece, tells a different story in its own way, but they are all experiences that usually prevail in winter: intimate moments with loved ones by the fire, or festive merriment in large company. "
Miroslav Georgiev
"Throughout the ages, chamber music has distinguished itself as music for a select and elite society. From the madrigals of Claudio Monteverdi and the incredible songs of Gesualdo di Venosa for their time to the classical quartets of Haydn and Mozart, it has held a special place in the lives of all those who cannot do without classical music. Only a hundred years ago, the greatest radical of the twentieth century, Schoenberg clothed music in the "new skin" of atonality and dodecaphony. He believed that it was only for a very strictly limited circle of "enlightened" people. I, on the other hand, believe that we live in a time when chamber music, and all music, should be accessible to all and unite us. In this sense, I want the programme we are going to present to reach as many people as possible. We already have our temple of the classics in the opera, but we must not forget that music is not limited to that."
