The plot is based on the ancient myth. The brothers Eteocles and Polynices are killed in a struggle for the throne of Thebes. The present king, Creon, decrees that the body of Polynices, guilty of treason, shall remain unburied, prey to jackals and vultures. But Antigone, sister of the dead and betrothed to Creon's son, transgresses the order and pays for it with her life.

The choreographer, Ludovic Parti, uses motifs from Jean Anouilh's play. In his staged reading, he focuses on the conflict between Antigone and Creon. Antigone fights in the name of those unwritten laws that require her to bury her brother to express her respect for the dead. She rejects the discrimination of which her brother Polynices is a victim and challenges the conflict between the cause of the heart and the rules of the state. Antigone, rewritten by Anouilh, is a new character; she is troubled and dissatisfied. Creon inexorably destroys all the reasons that make her persist in her rebellious intentions.

The play thus reaches ultimate generalizations that make the viewer reflect that in the modern world, every order needs a critical look and an examination of its moral foundations.
