On September 3 "Supplication" on the stage "On the shore of Ancient Seutopolis"

"Prayer" is the name of the special evening in which the State Opera Stara Zagora presented on September 3 at 9 pm on the stage "On the shore of the Ancient Seutopolis" near the Koprinka dam two significant works.

The oratorio is based on prayer chants of the Orthodox Church music. It is written for large orchestra, choir and soloist. The expressive means used unite both church and classical music and contemporary pop music. The troupe of the Stara Zagora Opera performs several of these movements , which flow into each other. The conductor is Metropolitan Kyprian of Stara Zagora. Soloist - Emilia Ivanova, soprano.

With the blessing of His Holiness Maxim Patriarch of Bulgaria, on May 10, 2003. The oratorio was performed in honor of the 50th anniversary of the proclamation of independence of the Bulgarian Patriarchate before senior Orthodox clergy and 15 delegations from Orthodox Churches around the world. On 3 October 2007 in Brussels, the Europalia Festival opened with "Prayer". On 20 May 2009, the Bulgarian National Radio Choir, accompanied by the Yaroslavl Academic Governor's Symphony Orchestra conducted by Naiden Todorov, performed "Molenie" in the Great Concert Hall of the historic city of Yaroslavl. Within the framework of the Year of Bulgaria in Russia, on 22 May the oratorio in the same composition was performed on the prestigious world stage of Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow.

In the second part, the "Solemn Overture 1812" will be performed - in the version with chorus by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Written on the occasion of Russia's victory in the Patriotic War of 1812, this overture is still very popular to this day for its spectacular sound, which in the original finale is accompanied by bell ringing and cannon volleys. It is intended for performance outdoors or in large concert halls with a large orchestra. Under the baton of Metropolitan Cyprian, the 1812 Overture will be performed by the opera's chorus and orchestra.

These two works were presented for the first time in Stara Zagora on 31 July 2018 in the Memorial Evening - a performance entitled "Prayer for Stara Zagora" - an event dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the Liberation of Bulgaria from Turkish rule and the 141st anniversary of the Battles for the Defence of Stara Zagora during the Russo-Turkish War of 1877/1878 at the Memorial Complex "The Defenders of Stara Zagora".
