On July 19 is the concert of the legendary band "The Foundation" and the orchestra of the State Opera-Stara Zagora with conductor Vladimir Boshnakov. The favourite songs of three generations of Bulgarians "We will embrace again" by FSB, "There is no turning back" by B.T.R., "Lipstick" by Donny and others will be played. In the concert, the musicians, beloved by the audience, alternate the unforgettable hits of the bands from which their famous career began. "The Foundation" turned out to be a good musical project because it read well the nostalgic predilections of several generations, say specialists of musical life in the country. The band is composed of Kiril Marichkov, Ivan Lechev, Dobrin Vekilov-Doni, Slavcho Nikolov and Venko Poromanski. "The Foundation" was founded in early 2013. It is one of the supergroups in Bulgaria. Its members perform their greatest hits in new acoustic arrangements. "The Foundation" cannot be called a group of musicians. Their songs and music are not just musical performances. "It's safe to say that this is a walk down the road that describes the hopes, experiences and dreams of several generations in our country. Once upon a time, we were divided into the FSB and the 'Crickets'. Today, this formation brings us together," say the musicians. Each of their concerts is worth it, even if you are not from the generation that hardly got its freedom.
The world premiere of the opera "Trajan in Thrace", written especially for the Stara Zagora Opera, is on July 25 in the natural environment in which the action takes place. The music and libretto are by André Cattelli. The action takes place in the city of Augusta Traiana, ancient Beroe, now Stara Zagora in 106 AD. AD. Their treason is discovered by Orol, but all three are captured by Roman soldiers. They are to be crucified - Marcelo for treason, Medea for apostasy, and Orol as a fanatic. A herald announces the coming of Emperor Trajan, who is to publicly judge what their fate is to be!

The ballet is inspired by "Antigone" by Jean Anouilh.
Antigone, the daughter of Oedipus, king of Thebes, demonstrates devotion and greatness of spirit - unparalleled in mythology. When her father is banished from Thebes and blinded must beg in the streets, Antigone is his guide and watches over him until the end of his days. Returning back to Thebes, Antigone faces a new trial. Her brothers Eteocles and Polynices vie for power and at the end of the siege of the city by the foreign army led by Polynices, the two brothers die by killing each other. Their uncle Creon takes over and orders that Polynices' body be left without burial and that his soul find no rest. Whoever dares to defy this order will be punished with death. "Antigone returns to assume the role she has always been given, that of the young heroine who challenges the regimes in the name of universal love, which extends from the blood bond to all people who feel like brothers, thus overcoming any tribal-national ethos."
In the second part of this ballet evening, our audience will see the ballet Lotus. The young choreographer Alessandra Scalambrino from Italy comes at the invitation of the Artistic Director of the Stara Zagora Opera Ballet Sylvia Tomova, after winning the special prize for choreography in Modica, Italy. Her "Lotus" calls us to be like the lotus flower - to come alive every day and to face difficulties with courage. For it is the lotus flower that is an excellent metaphor for people who are able to overcome grief with calm, self-control and perseverance. The choreographer develops this theme, starting from the misleading idea of romantic love, according to which one can only be happy in a couple, to the final realization that one does not need anyone to perfect oneself. "We have in all of us the tools for transforming grief into 'miracle'. Alessandra Scalambrino chooses for her performance the inspiring music of the sensual pianist and composer Frederic Chopin.
