For the third consecutive year the Youth Opera Studio at the State Opera - Stara Zagora celebrates spring with a concert called PRIMAVERA E AMORE (Spring and Love) - on 11 May /Saturday /2024 at 7 pm in the foyer of the Opera House.

Who are the soloists in this concert?

These are the "young lions" of the Stara Zagora State Opera Choir - Stoyan Buyukliev /tenor/, Zhivko Dobrev /bass/, Vaso Paraskeva /soprano/, Anastasia Altukhova /soprano/, Anna Yankova /mezzo-soprano/, piano accompaniment by Miroslav Georgiev.

What is the programme of the concert?

Stoyan Buyukliev tells us. First we present duets, aria, terzet, quintet from operas by W. A. Mozart. Then there are performances from Italian operas /G.Rossini, G.Verdi, G.Donizetti, F.Chilea/ and the last part is with performances from French operas /Saint-Saëns, J.Bizet, J.Massenet, Leo Delibes/. Each movement ends with a quintet, it will be very interesting. We will present our performances in a broken way, as a spectacle. We are not in rehearsal, but have gathered to celebrate the beauty of nature and music."

Between the studios' last concert on March 27, 2023 and the upcoming one on May 11, the young artists of the studios have had their share of successes and accomplishments:

On December 13, 2023 at 1:30 p.m., the Studios' premiere educational concert, "Into the World of Opera." The script for this engaging performance was written by poet Maria Doneva, who leads the action. The conductor of the Chamber Orchestra is Miroslav Georgiev - a superb pianist, friend of young talents and their mentor. Stoyan Buyukliev and Miroslav Georgiev made the orchestrations for this format themselves. The concert was presented 3 times on the stage of the National Music Academy "Prof. Pancho Vladigerov" in the capital.

Zhivko Dobrev, Stoyan Buyukliev, Meriam Shams and Anastasia Altukhova took part in the performance "The Fantastic Shop" /for children/ of the Children's Youth Opera and Ballet Studio.

Stoyan Buyukliev made his debut last year in a major role - that of the poet Gringoire in the musical Esmeralda the Virgin of Paris, as Monsieur Tricket in the opera Eugene Onegin by P.I. Tchaikovsky.

Zhivko Dobrev was in the role of Zaretsky in P.I. Tchaikovsky's opera Eugene Onegin.

Anastasia Altukhova debuted as Empress Anna in the ballet The Crystal Palace by Alexei Shore.
