World tenor and Honorary Citizen of Sliven Kamen Chanev in the role of Radames
On 14 July at 21.00 the late antique and medieval fortress "Tweeda" in Sliven will be transformed for the first time into an opera stage where the exciting story of the opera "Aida" by Giuseppe Verdi will be performed. The idea is of the world-renowned tenor and honorary citizen of Sliven Kamen Chanev, embraced by the Mayor of the city Stefan Radev.
The spectacular production of the Stara Zagora Opera is being prepared especially for the event. The director of the mega spectacle of the opera "Aida" is Ognyan Draganov, the monumental scenography is the work of Todor Demerov, and the artist of some of the lavish costumes - the Italian master stage designer and costume designer Salvatore Russo. The spectacular ballets will be performed with the participation of the ballet troupe of the Stara Zagora Opera, as well as children from the ballet schools "Adagio" and "PetiPa" - Sliven. The choreography is by Romina Slavova. The performance will be conducted by the chief conductor of the Stara Zagora Opera Ivaylo Krinchev.
A stellar soloist cast will perform the main roles - the world-famous Bulgarian tenor Kamen Chanev in the role of Radames. On her home stage, the charming mezzo-soprano - the pride of her hometown Sliven, Daniela Dyakova, will perform the role of Amneris. The brilliant soprano Tanya Ivanova will guest in the role of Aida, the magnificent baritone with an enviable international career Kiril Manolov - will be in the role of Amonasro, and in the roles of Ramfis and the King of Egypt the audience will enjoy the brilliant basses Ivaylo Djurov and Alexander Marulev. The orchestra, choir, ballet of the State Opera-Stara Zagora, representatives of the Pre-Bulgarian Survival School "Baga-Tour", children from ballet schools "Adagio" and "PetiPa"-Sliven will also participate.
