THE YOUNG FOREIGN BALLET DANCERS WHO CAME UNDER THE PROGRAMME "EUROPEAN SOLIDARITY CORPS" CONTINUE TO DELIGHT THE STARA ZAGORA AUDIENCE

Francesco Boriello, Maria Elisabetta Colaro, Frederico Marquez Pinto and Evelina Vschouek - young people from Poland, Italy and Portugal, continue their active and impressive activity in the ballet company after the state of emergency in Bulgaria, which closed the cultural scene in the country for several months. The young people are aged between 20 and 22 years and joined the opera company in January and February, after the approved funding of the project of the State Opera - Stara Zagora "Professional development in the world of ballet art" under the program "European Solidarity Corps".

The project aims to build a model of European cooperation, supporting the development of the young multinational collective of the ballet company of the Stara Zagora Opera, which will present to its audience a quality production, and to the public - a model of work that promotes the cultural diversity of the European Union and the opportunity for young people from different countries to work together and develop professionally. The inclusion of young people from Italy, Portugal and Poland gives the ensemble an even greater intercultural flavour and helps to create new international contacts, exchange experiences and different points of view.

At national level, this is the first European Solidarity Corps jobs project to be implemented by an opera cultural institution. At the international level, it offers an innovative opportunity to provide first jobs and professional development to young people who have completed their education in the field of dance art.

Since the beginning of the year, Francesco, Maria Elisabetta, Frederico and Evelina Wyshoek have participated in 6 performances of the Opera, including the Ballet Nights on 21 and 26 February in Stara Zagora and Plovdiv and on 10 July at the Antique Forum, the ballets "GETO" and "Don Quixote" /which opened the Festival "Stage of the Ages" on 18 July in Veliko Tarnovo and on 25 July at the Antique Theatre-Stara Zagora/, in the choreography of the opera "Carmen" /on 18 February/.

The management of the opera is extremely pleased with the performance of the young ballet dancers, and the audience's applause after each of their performances on stage further confirms the wonderful impression and impact they create. In addition to the ballet performances, the four young people engage in various informal meetings with young people from the city, in which they talk about themselves, their profession and other interesting facts. In the remaining months of the project, they will carry out other off-stage cultural public activities that will present to the local community unique details and characteristics of their home countries.

The project "Professional development in the world of ballet art" lasts 9 months and is worth 11 405 Euro. Funding is provided by the European Union through the European Solidarity Corps programme.
