We wish her good health from the bottom of our hearts and may she continue to shine and warm us with her dignified presence in the Stara Zagora Opera! It is a great honor for all of us to share with her the treasured moments of touch with the great arts of OPERA and BALLET and to enjoy her support and empathy!

An opera legend at 85 - EVDOKIA ZDRAVKOVA!

For a quarter of a century the "golden voice of Bulgaria" has been shining on the posters of the Stara Zagora Opera! The operas "Turandot", "Nabucco", "The Flying Dutchman", "Manon Lescaut", "Tosca", "Il Trovatore", "Don Carlos" are staged for her, because to reach for these titles - you have to have such a soprano in your line-up. And this is understood by the long-time director of the first out-of-town opera maestro Dimitar Dimitrov. Evdokia Zdravkova is a frequent guest of the Sofia Opera and has appeared with great success on a number of international stages. But she always says that the happiest years of her artistic career were those 25+ years at the Stara Zagora Opera. Evdokia Zdravkova is an honorary member of her beloved 100 year old opera theatre to this day! The great soprano's last stage appearance was in 2016 in the premiere performance of Mascagni's opera "Village Honour" in partnership with the unforgettable Kamen Chanev and Olga Romanko /FOBI 2016/ - UNFORGETTABLE!

Born to be a star, Evdokia Zdravkova sensed her divine gift at the tender age of 15 and with her inherent expulsiveness, set off boldly for the capital to study singing at the Music School. At the age of 19, she joined the Rousse Opera, where she remained for 9 seasons and amassed a serious solo repertoire of over 20 leading roles. Today she says with a smile that she was very headstrong and rebellious and got herself into trouble. She herself left the Rousse Opera House and chose the Stara Zagora Opera House because she realized that the conductor Dimitar Dimitrov worked a lot with the singers. They didn't like each other at first, but Evdokia Zdravkova later became the theatre's leading dramatic soprano. Every appearance of Evdokia on stage is like an explosion of admiration and emotions. An exceptional voice, but also a great actress - superlatives and new and new offers for engagements are raining down. There are also irresistible offers for permanent work abroad, but she refuses. She stayed at the Stara Zagora Opera for 27 years. Stara Zagora repays her with love, applause and awards: she has won the Stara Zagora Award five times, received the title of Merited Artist and the Christina Morfova Award for lifetime achievement. "It was a very nice period in my life. Today, she continues to live and be excited by what is happening in her beloved opera theatre, she is proud of the achievements of the Stara Zagora Opera, she is grateful to be an Honorary Member of the theatre, she admires its director Ognyan Draganov who "is a great director, a great organizer and manager and a very great person." On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Stara Zagora Opera, during the gala concert on July 1, dedicated to the anniversary, the director of the Stara Zagora Opera Ognyan Draganov presented her on stage with the Honorary Anniversary Badge of the theater.

And the Stara Zagora Opera is always "looking for" in the audience the shining beautiful eyes and fiery hairstyle of its prima donna, awaiting her criticism, her approval and support!

May she be alive and well and ever so inspired, honest to art, temperamental and unrestrained!
