On Sunday, June 27, at 20.00 on the open stage in the park of the Military Academy in Sofia, the Ballet of the State Opera-Stara Zagora will present within the first edition of the Festival of Musical Theatre the three dance miniatures "Dance at Sunrise", "Lotus", and "The Next". Three outstanding choreographers will bring their ideas to life and express their poetic messages through the art of talented ballet artists.
The ballet "Dance at Sunrise" experienced its true world premiere- not only as a choreographic expression, but also as music, on the stage of the Stara Zagora Opera in 2019. The Austrian conductor Andrija Pavlich wrote the ballet music and even before completing his composition completely, offered Silvia Tomova to do the choreography. Sofia residents and guests of the capital will have the opportunity to enjoy the mystical charm of a virtuosic and symbolic divertissement dance bathed in the light of the sunrise. The evocative voice of the magnificent Bulgarian actress Silvia Lulcheva will enhance the sense of mystery and harmony. The multimedia stage vision is by Sergey Golubev. Soloists Anelia Dimitrova, Fiordi Loha, Martina Prefetto, Frederico Pinto, Clara Ferrer, Ivaylo Yanev will take part .
The young choreographer Alessandra Scalambrino from Italy choreographed her piece "Lotus" with the Stara Zagora Opera Ballet at the invitation of the Artistic Director Silvia Tomova after winning the special prize for choreography in Modica, Italy /Silvia Tomova is a member of the jury of the competition/. Her "Lotus" calls us to be like the lotus flower - to come alive every day and face difficulties with courage. For it is the lotus flower that is an excellent metaphor for people who are able to overcome grief with calm, self-control and perseverance. The choreographer develops this theme, starting from the misleading idea of romantic love, according to which one can only be happy in a couple,to the final realization that one does not need anyone to perfect oneself. "We have in all of us the tools for transforming grief into "miracle". Alessandra Scalambrino chooses for her performance the inspiring music of the sensual pianist and composer Frederic Chopin. Starring Cozue Donaka, Bogdana Sergeeva, Ivelina Nikolova, Romina Slavova, Storm Norris, Anemike Bruce, Evelina Vshawek, Akari Morimatsu, Elizabeth Riznar, Alexandra Ostatek
For the finale of the author's choreographic evening, the dancer and choreographer Hristian Bakalov - innovator, experimenter, restless spirit, established beyond the borders of Bulgaria, will bring to the stage of the Military Academy Park one of his first dance choreographies, which brought him international success. It is an all-male dance based on Jacques Brel's popular chanson "Au Suivant". Starring Frederico Pinto, Francesco Boriello, Joseph Wright, Marcelo Molina, Ivaylo Yanev, KaitoTakahashi, Alexander Markov, Kalin Lyubenov, David Lopez.
