Viennese Parisian Ball at the Opera

On the eve of the New Year 2017, on 30 December at 19.00, the State Opera Stara Zagora will open its doors for the second consecutive year to delight the guests and residents of the "City of Lime Trees" with a New Year gala concert-performance. Italian style, Viennese flavour, French chic and lots of smiles from operas, operettas and ballets are promised by the organisers and all participants in the festive spectacle.
How the two super-attractive destinations Vienna and Paris can intersect in one evening will become clear on 30 December. The festive musical introduction will start right from the entrance of the Opera House - at 7 p.m. the audience will be welcomed in the foyer with a glass of champagne and performances by the Ars Nova Quartet, the Stara Zagora State Opera Choir with choirmaster Mladen Stanev, and piano accompaniment by Denitsa Petrova. At 7.30 p.m. is the beginning of the festive concert-performance with the joking title Viennese Parisian Ball in the hall of the Opera with the soloists, ballet and orchestra of the State Opera-Stara Zagora. Conductors Ivaylo Krinchev and Mauro Fabri /Italy/ will take turns at the conductor's desk. Directed by Slavcho Nikolov. The choreography in the concert-performance is by Silvia Tomova.
The festive evening will feature sparkling arias and duets from favourite operas and operettas by Gaetano Donizetti, Camille Saint-Saëns, Gounod, Johann Strauss, Franz Lehar, and Jacques Offenbach. Audiences will be able to feel like at a ball - with the charm of the Waltz of the Flowers from Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker, Offenbach's Can Can and Strauss's Radetzky March performed by the soloists and corps de ballet of Stara Zagora State Opera. The brilliant opera performers Elena Barumova, Mirela Alexandrova-guest, Ofelia Hristova, Michaela Berova, Nikolay Motov, Milko Mikhailov, Plamen Kumpikov, Ivaylo Jurov will delight the admirers of beautiful music with a rich programme of selected arias and duets from the Faust operas, "Don Pasquale", "The Favourite", "Samson and Delilah", operettas "The Bat", "The Merry Widow", "The Land of Smiles", as well as Italian canzonetti and Russian songs. There will also be a performance of Fantasia from Carnival of Vienna and the overture to Strauss's operetta The Bat performed by the Orchestra of the State Opera - Stara Zagora.
After the end of the festive concert - the last lottery for 2016 will be drawn with the numbers of the purchased tickets and the winning number of the spectator who will receive his New Year's gift voucher "Weekend for two" at the Armira Hotel will be announced.
In the Opera House lobby, a stylish cocktail reception will be offered to all spectators. State Opera Stara Zagora takes the opportunity to thank its audience, to share its joy and pride from this extremely successful year for the theatre, in which: it has performed over 170 performances and 14 premieres, received high awards and honors, presented its art on many new stages.
