Ruth Koleva with the Stara Zagora Opera Orchestra

The fiery girl Ruth Koleva with the velvet voice and the orchestra of the Stara Zagora State Opera present their first joint concert on March 10 at 7 pm at the Opera House. Be with them to hear the songs from Ruth's new album "Confidence.Truth". Filip Alexandrov - Calvins, Bogomil Enchev - Drums, Alexander Slavchev - Guitar, Svetoslav Nedelchev (Kozmo) - Bass, Volen Milchev - Backing vocals, Bozidar Vassilev - Trombone. The conductor is the famous Bulgarian musician Vladimir Dzhambazov.

Vladimir Dzhambazov is the author of the arrangements and orchestration of Ruth Koleva's songs in the concert entitled Confidence.Truth and it will feature songs from Ruth's previous album and quite a few from the new album - over 20 in total!

"I really enjoy working with Ruth - it may be a cliché, but she is really easy to work with. We've known each other for a few years now - she's honest, open and very importantly - constantly evolving. Very cosmopolitan, I don't know if everyone knows that Ruth won a scholarship from the Stevie Wonder Foundation and studied in Los Angeles and also studied media and communications in the Netherlands, so she is definitely an erudite person who knows things in all their aspects," says Vladimir Dzhambazov.

"This is the best album I've done to date. We recorded it in Los Angeles with very talented musicians. Two of them got Grammy nominations for 2016 and 2017. Translated, the title "Confidence. Truth" means "Confidence. Truth" - and besides having a play on my name, this is the album where I really for the first time feel confident and completely genuine in what I do. I'm both the co-writer and composer of almost all the tracks. There's only one that I have no involvement in as a writer. I've shared a lot of personal things in this music that I may not have had the confidence to sit down, compose and express in my own words until now. I've always looked for someone else to speak for me, and for me to sing it. On this album, for the first time, I have the confidence to do it myself: the way I feel. That's why it's 'confident', and why it's 'real', because everything on it actually happened," says Ruth Koleva.

"Singing on stage is very different from singing in a studio. I am a stage artist. I've always been much stronger and felt more at home on stage than in a studio. In the studio you go into a different state of mind, it's a totally different world. When I step on stage, I'm aware of what I'm doing, how to handle myself, my voice, how to communicate with the audience. In the studio you have to encapsulate yourself to give birth to an idea. Up until that point, I didn't have confidence in my studio work - but with this album, that happened."

"The feeling when you stand in front of the orchestra and the music you've created comes on is like falling in love for the first time, you feel your stomach clench, your breath stop and a rush of warmth throughout your body. You can physically feel the beauty of the music played by string instruments - it seems to go through your bones. Classical music is the greatest experience for me.

Come to the State Opera-Stara Zagora on March 10 at 7 pm for an unforgettable experience!
