"The Bat" by Johann Strauss on the International Day of Humour and Satire at the Stara Zagora Opera House

On 1 April at 19.00 on the stage of the Stara Zagora State Opera will come to life again the "most classical" of the classical and the "most Viennese" of the Viennese operettas - "The Bat" by Johann Strauss Jr. The premiere of the operetta "The Bat" took place with great success on March 14 this year, and on March 31 the Stara Zagora Opera will be a guest with this performance at the traditional festival of arts "Chudomir's Holidays" in Kazanlak.

On April 1 - the International Day of Humour and Satire, the audience will have the opportunity to treat themselves to a few hours of fun in the Stara Zagora Opera House with the hilarious story of love, friendship, infidelity, accompanied by comic situations and unexpected twists. For the first time the Stara Zagora audience will see Rusalina Mochukova in the role of Rosalinda. The magnificent soprano does not hide her predilection for the operetta genre - she has the chance to touch the masters in the cradle of operetta - Austria. For almost two years Rusalina Mochukova has been engaged at the Landestheater-Salzburg, she was chosen for the role of Tremonisha in the world premiere of Joel Dirmeier's musical "Joplin's Life in Ragtime". In the Austrian capital of Vienna, she made her debut in a performance of Mozart's opera Bastien und Bastienne and participated in a series of operetta concerts. Her work with the Viennese conductor Adolf Zech was of great importance in learning the intricacies of operetta interpretation. Rusalina Mochukova made her debut in the role of Rosalinde from the operetta The Bat at the Rousse Opera about two years ago.

On 1 April, the baritone Ivo Yordanov will once again play the role of Doctor Falke, and for the first time Boris Taskov will be in the role of Gabriel von Eisenstein, Neli Necheva /Adella/, Milko Mikhailov /Alfred/, Michaela Berova /Prince Orlovsky/, Lubomir Petkov /Doctor Blind/, Evgeny Arabadzhiev /Frank, director of the prison/, Kamelia Stoycheva /Ida, sister of Adela/, actor Stoyan Angelov /guest/ - /Frosh/, Hristo Ivanov /Ivan, the servant of Prince Orlovsky/, orchestra, choir and ballet of the State Opera-Stara Zagora.

Conductor - Krasimir Kushev, director - Georgi Dinev, artist - Ivan Tokadzhiev, costume designer - Nikolina Kostova - Bogdanova, choreography - Boryana Sechanova,

Recall that:

CHAMPAGNE IS TO BLAME FOR EVERYTHING

For the fact that after a few years of living together, we're a bit fed up.

For what happened last night at the prom and falling in love again... with you.

For the other stuff I didn't tell you...so you wouldn't get a headache.

About the third thing I want to tell you but can't because...it "hurts my head".

For wanting to have fun without you, just for fun.

Cheating or... "swinging"?

What makes us uninteresting to each other?

Why do we allow a sense of ownership to dull our senses to the other?

When are we real - with or without a mask?

"Why, why, oh my God, why, why, oh my God, why, why, oh my God, why, oh my God?"

Who is to blame for all this? We seek the answer to the questions!

And it is : "Well, His Majesty the Champagne!"

Long live Champagne!

And swing is still a dance, a fashion, and not only...

With a wink:

Georgi Dinev, director
